TEACH NY - Mandated Workshops for Teaching in New York State
Dignity For All (DASA)
In June 2012 the Legislature enacted Chapter 102 of the Laws of 2012, which amended the Dignity Act to include a requirement that school professionals applying for a certificate or license on or after July 1, 2013 complete training on the social patterns of harassment, bullying and discrimination.
This workshop will provide school personnel with awareness of harassment, bullying and discrimination.
Mandated Reporter: Child Abuse
This on-line course satisfies the New York State mandate to complete two hours of coursework in identifying and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment, a one-time training requirement for all mandated reporters.
This workshop will provide school personnel with awareness of child abuse signs and reporting techniques that they can use

School Violence Prevention and Intervention
School Violence Prevention and Intervention is a two-hour course that is required, in accordance with section 3004 of the NYS Education Law, for certification of professionals who work in the schools in New York State. It was developed as a response to the ever-increasing violence in our schools.
This workshop will provide school personnel with awareness of violence prevention and intervention skills and techniques that they can use.
